
Dr. Daniel Terwelp earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin while also a member of the 1969 and 1970 National Championship Football Team. He received his medical degree from The University of Texas of Medical School at Houston. Dr. Terwelp completed three years of pediatric internship and residency at the University of Colorado Medical Center with affiliations at Denver Children's Hospital, University Hospital, and Denver General Hospital. He served a fourth year in pediatrics as Chief Resident for 70 interns and residents along with his appointment to the teaching faculty at the University of Colorado Medical Center. Dr. Terwelp is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Terwelp has served the pediatric community in several roles that have included Chief of Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Austin and St. David's Hospital and as president of the Pediatric Physicians Alliance. He has volunteered at the Volunteer Healthcare Clinic (formerly known as the Caritas Clinic) for 25-plus years and has served on their Board. He has been a strong supporter of the Children's Miracle Network Telethon in the years past and continues to be actively involved with Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas. He currently practices primary care pediatrics in a two-physician private practice.
