Jay Shapiro, MD

Dr. Jay Shapiro is a graduate of The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in orthopedic surgery at St. Louis University. He also served a fellowship in scoliosis and pediatric orthopedic surgery at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas.

He is board certified in orthopedic surgery and is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society and the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America. Dr. Shapiro is the founder of Central Texas Pediatric Orthopedics and Scoliosis Surgery, and has been a practicing in Austin for 20 years. He also is Chief of the Bone, Spine & Joint Center at Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas.

Dr. Shapiro is married and has two sons and one daughter.
